This new
facility, opened by Bally's Park Place in 1997, is a western-themed casino located
right on the Boardwalk. You can't miss the Wild Wild West because it is built to resemble
an old western frontier town, and is one of the most creative and
innovative casinos there is. The first real taste of Las Vegas-style themes in Atlantic
City, the Wild Wild West features an animated mountain, waterfalls and a running-water
stream flowing throughout the property. There are also 17 animatronic robots that
continuously move and talk. The robots depict a gold prospector and his mule, dance-hall
girls, a talking vulture, and gunfighters.
The old west theme is continued inside, across
74,000 square feet of gaming space. Nestled between cacti and mountains are 1,774 themed
slot machines, running from nickel slots to $5 machines. The Wild Wild West also
features Little Joe's, Atlantic City's only private video poker
parlor. This area contains over 160 video poker machines ranging in denominations from
5 cents to $5. There are also 55 table games featuring: Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Poker,
Big Six, Let it Ride, and Simulcasting.
Also located in the frontier town are three
restaurants, two lounges and a shopping arcade. It's worth a look and our editors did
very well here.
